What does 'Import New Version' Do?

What does the 'Import New Version' do?  I find this when I right-click an item in the Data Panel.

Thanks for your posting in the community!

The "Import New Version" command works to add a design into a version history as the latest of a design file.

It could be imported from local in your machine with various data formats.

Even after the new version was added, previous versions can be restored.
