Unit of measure in M not MM on imported STEP File.

So I'm having an issue where an imported Project that was provided to me as  STEP file, is in Meters, not Millimeters.  So anytime I try to measure anything it goes down to .001M and no finer.

My default unit of measure is set to Millimeters already so I don't know what else to do to change this.  It seems like the unit of measure is stuck to whatever was imported (exported from OnShape for me to use in Fusion). I truly doubt the OnShape project was working in Meters either.

Can you Attach the original STEP (*.stp or *.step) file here?

If you open the STEP file in NotePad - what units are reported?

I cannot share the file as part of the agreement for my work on the project.

I've never analyzed STEP file data in notepad so I'm not seeing where to find the units of measure.  Searched through the entire thing and the only reference I find to any unit of measure is the naming of the hardware in the assemblies ( which are in mm).

As far as I can tell in the Fusion project, the dimensions are correct to what they should be, but Fusion is displaying them as Meters instead of Millimeters.  I checked an overall that I can confirm from a real world component and it displays as .487M when the part is 487MM long. So correct, but when I need to be working in .001MM increments, the units of measure are preventing me from working.

If the size is right, and you just want to change the active units for the document, you can do so here:

then, just choose whatever units you want for the design from the dropdown:

Side note:  You can change the number of decimal places in the Measure command:
