Is there a way to turn off live updates? Almost every single time I go to download a material it says I can't because it's in the middle of a live update. It's a bit crippling when I can't do my work because the software is updating, and it happens frequently.

You cannot turn off the automatic updates. The update process does not take very long, about 5 minutes with a restart, and they do not happen all that often. In November there were only 3 and one of those was to fix a very troublesome problem for some. May I suggest that you download most of your required materials at one time and avoid this problem.

Interesting. I don't know if there's a difference between automatic updates and live updates, but here it is 5 hours after my initial post, and it it still doing the live update. I still cannot download any materials. Like I said, it happens quite often when I'm downloading materials, definitely more than 3 times in a month, and it always takes several hours to finish.
I don't really have a select few materials that I use; however, I'm trying to download a material that I have already used. In every new design, I always have to download materials that I've previously downloaded. Is there a way to keep them downloaded so I don't have to re-download them for each new design?
Here's a screenshot of the message I'm getting when I try to download a material.

The only update I ever get are indicated by a small "1" located at the tip of the red arrow. As I said, they rarely take more than 5 minutes including the restart of the application.
I am puzzled by the fact that you have to download different materials more than once. This is not true for me and I do nothing special. One way you could possibly manage the material availability is to go into "Manage Materials" dialog, and select your materials and then add them to your Favorites. I think this may help you to keep them local better.

Thank you. I'll try that and see what comes of it the next time I go to use the same material.
