I just used the Fusion slicer for the first time and I must say I am impressed. I have always used Cura but the UI of Cura is so clunky and dated that it takes me back to the 1980's.
I found support for two of my 3d printers but not for the one I use the most - Snapmaker J1. I'm wondering what it would take to add support for this printer, and note it is an IDEX (dual extruder) printer?
Hi @Hamid_M
we have not yet created a post for that specific brand.
In order to support a fff printer, Fusion need two files.
One machine defintion file, that can be created from scratch in the machine library.
This define the capabilities of the printer, like maximum extruder temperature, build volume limits...
Then there is the post that will generate the gcode compatible with the firmware managing the printer.
For the IDEX support, it's done on two brands, Flashforge, that uses a very specific gcode, probably not compatible with your machine.
Then we have the BCN3D printer, that support the marlin firmware, probably more compatible.
The posts are written in Javascript and can be edited by the Fusion users.
So, you can grab the items supporting the BCN3D printers, to modify them for the Snapmaker.
Have a pleasant day.
Regards
