Steps to remove material of a desired design?

Hello I am working on an object that will be CNC machined. I want to create on the top surface indentation of a specific shape. I am enclosing the file with 30 shapes typical which I want to delete and leave in indentation.

Am I proceeding correctly or is this not the correct way to achieve this effect?

thank you for your time

It was only one command.  Open the Combine command, select the base body as the first pick and then left click drag from left to right to form a window around all of your discs.  Select Remove for the operation and your got it.
