spinning wheel of death after uploading various file types

Hi, i am trying to upload a model created in another software for CAM and rendering in Fusion 360, but am getting stuck every time with the (mac) spinning wheel after uploading.  I've uploaded this file in .wire (4MB), .igs (10MB) and .stp (6MB) and each lead to the same result, once I open the file, it immediately goes to the spinning wheel.

I've tried the work arounds found elsewhere on the forum (clear user cache, open from A360, etc) but none work. While the screen cap below is not my first attempt to open these files, it has been crunching for over and hour as of this writing on this attempt

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Hi Andrew,

Apologies that we are struggling to open this model, would it be possible for us to get access to it so we can investigate what is happening ? Depending on your level of comfort you could send me (Matt.Pooley@autodesk.com) a public share link to the model or forward it in one of the formats you have tried to import with.

Also, could you share the origin of the model (CAD system or 3rd party source) ? We might be able to recommend another path to get the data into Fusion.

Regards,

Matt Pooley

I have the same problem. I get spinning wheel and it is very very slow to boot up or open. I have a 2018 MacBook Pro with an i7 Processor and 16GB of RAM.

Hi Mark,

Are you having problems when opening specific models or in general when using Fusion ?

Thanks,

Matt.

I believe the file is a SLDPRT File. I also see SLDASM files. Does it make a difference if someone did it on a Windows based computer and I am using a MacBook computer to view files after? I just want to see and view 3D and 2D CAD files that a designer is working on for me. Seems so slow and laggy to open and view
