Sign in via browser on fusion 360, doesn't open browser.

I had a problem today when opening the software. The software asked me to sign in via a browser, which it was supposed to direct me to, but no browser window popped up. Instead, I was left with no way to log in.

I've tried:

  • repairing and reinstalling the software
  • running the software as an administrator
  • trying a different network
  • changing the main browser

OS: Windows 11

Thanks @n8225 for the update.

Hi@Anonymous  and @haziqismail , have you tried to clear cache from Chrome and then sign in? if it still doesn't work, how about the above workaround to switch default App for HTTPS from Chrome to Microsoft Edge?

I manage to get it to work,

I notice that these are causing the issue based on multiple survey from our workgroup. Its nothing to do with default browser.

1. ADSK Licensing

( Either you restart/remove and reinstall) - I remove and reinstall.

2. You got Ransomware holding your UAC hostage. - Do a malware scanned and once you remove it, the browser login will appear.

3. You have multiple Autodesk software that the License Manager is causing Issue.

4. If you have Windows 11, you can reset it, keeping files. And Reinstall fusion 360 you should be able to sign in with web browser popping up.

Hi @JaneFan

Unfortunately it's still not working after following the above steps. I'm using the Educational license as I am teacher and have created a new account after changing schools. I haven't been able to login with the new account.

After downloading and opening the desktop App it asks me to 'Sign In' which attempts to take me to the web browser. When this opens, I complete my login details and it prompts me to 'get product'. The Autodesk Fusion 360 browser attempts to load, then quickly closes and lands on the below page.

Any further advice would be great. Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

After creating this new account, have you ever set up fusion team for this account? If not, clicking "Go to product" is supposed to navigate you to fusion team setup page. A couple of question:

Can I know when you created this education account?

Have you tried clear cache or reboot computer, or set another web browser as default?

Are you working on Windows or Mac?

I have not created any Fusion Teams on this new account, however I did share some files with this new account from my previous account to ensure I didn't loose any projects.

  • I created this educational account about 1-2 weeks ago.
  • I have cleared cache and rebooted computer. I have also experimented with other default browsers.
  • I am working on Windows.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous, would you please provide application log files and Id Service log files following https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-manually-collect-the-log-files-for-Autodesk-Fusion-360.html?

Hi @sog6ANPB , Can I know the behavior of the failure to sign in from your side? Is it that clicking on sign in doesn't lead to web browser, or launching fusion fails after inputting user entitlement? Would you please provide log files so that we can look into as well?

Any Mac users find a solution to this?

For Mac

Go to Finder - Go - Go to folder, and type /private/ and find the folder 'tmp'.

CMD+I on the folder 'tmp' and change ALL permissions, to 'read and write'.

Should work.

For me, launching Fusion after entering user credentials fails.

I've tried resetting and repairing Fusion using the Service Utility, using a different user credential (my personal account and my work account), emptying browser caches, removing other Autodesk software, rebooting.

This is on MacOS Ventura, with the latest version of Fusion360 since I've tried repairing the installation.

3 weeks Later it's still impossible to even sign in to witness this great product crash?

Unbelievable.

What solved it for me was uninstalling the software completely from my Mac, and then reinstalling. Able to log in.

For Mac users, /private/tmp folder need permission for the current user to create the Autodesk-IDSDK-IPC as sub-folder, so that if it doesn't have enough permission, the request is blocked. would you please check whether tmp folder has enough permission? As @z5363798 mentioned above with steps:

Go to Finder - Go - Go to folder, and type /private/ and find the folder 'tmp'.

CMD+I on the folder 'tmp' and change ALL permissions, to 'read and write'.

cannot use Fusion anymore. contacted support and all step they provided did not work. (CaseNo:20447528)

permissions on the tmp map are all read and write, so nothing to gain there.

it just hangs and give an error after entering my credentials in de webbrowser login is goes to.

no info on what the error is...

reinstalled fusion, reset fusion, reset macbook, update licence manager, followed all steps on this site:

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/An-error-occured-P...

and this one:

What helped me is completely removing all the Autodesk malware that is running in the background to punish you for not pirating the product.

Once I did that and reinstalled everything, the fusion 360 login started working again (but now cfd isnt working).

So glad I didn't jump in and buy this software straight out. Great when it's working but has been nothing short of a three-ring circus to make it run. Problems launching on Windows 11. Problems launching on a multi-monitor system. And now this. Someone let me know when you have fixed it for Windows 11 and then maybe I'll be able to use Fusion.

I have read thru the past posts, and I am using Win11.

- Reinstalled

- Resetted

- Change from Chrome to Edge

- restarted PC

And that still does not work, very frustrated after Fusion 360 changed to webbrowser login for some people. But some of us does not able to login at all.

Check the loop of this post, many people suffer

I've got the same problem.  I was able to log in once this morning but having restarted my computer I am now stuck with the same problem as others.

The splash screen opens and I then click Sign In but no browser window opens

I've been through and tried *all* suggestions from others and still no joy.

Has anyone got a real answer from Autodesk which actually works and fixes this ?
