Sign in via browser on fusion 360, doesn't open browser.

I had a problem today when opening the software. The software asked me to sign in via a browser, which it was supposed to direct me to, but no browser window popped up. Instead, I was left with no way to log in.

I've tried:

  • repairing and reinstalling the software
  • running the software as an administrator
  • trying a different network
  • changing the main browser

OS: Windows 11

I do not have a computer with Windows 11 at this moment but maybe go into Settings and check to make sure you have a Web Browser set to an application you have on your system.  If it is set, maybe try and change it to another just to see if it helps.

It looks like this to set default app to Edge or else on windows 11. If setting default app doesn't help, please check whether reboot computer helps or not.

I am also facing similar issue with the fusion after the latest update.

Tried everything what @unordmtlr did.

Also tried resetting the license information as mentioned here.

Haven't had any luck in getting the fusion to open the login window so far.

Os: winows 11 latest update

Try installing this after closing all the instances of Fusion 360.
I was able to successfully get the login window to open and login, though fusion has still not loaded. It's still a progress though.

Is it possible you've set Run as administrator for Fusion app? If so, please close fusion and uncheck "run as administrator" from shortcut and compatibility. Let's see whether it works for such case.
Right mouse click on fusion icon, uncheck the two "Run as administrator" checkbox and restart fusion afterwards.

Hi @abdullakaderdina , sorry to know it doesn't work for you. If it is not resolved by unchecking "Run as administrator" solution in above post, would you please provide log files that we can look into what happened?

  • Fusion 360 logs location:
    • Windows:
C:\Users\(username)\Appdata\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\(Alphanumeric Folder)\logs (Look for all *.log files.)
C:\Users\(username)\Appdata\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\logs (Look for all *.log files. Logs here when login is unsuccessful.)
    • macOS:
Macintosh HD>Users>(username)>Library>Application Support>Autodesk>Autodesk Fusion 360>(Alphanumeric Folder)>logs (Look for all *.log files)
Macintosh HD>Users>(username)>Library>Application Support>Autodesk>Autodesk Fusion 360>logs (Look for all *.log files. Logs here when login is unsuccessful.)
  • Id Services Log File location::
    • Windows OS: %localappdata%\Autodesk\Identity Services\Log\IdServices.log
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Identity Services/Log/IdServices.log

Hi @z5363798 ,

Can I know if your issue is "Sign in doesn't kick off web browser", or go to product doesn't work after inputting user name and password? And what is is your previous web browser before switching to Safari?
Would you please try whether the two approaches can solve your issue:

1. Clear cache of the default web browser and try sign in again.

2. Kill identity manager from Activity Monitor, or restart Mac and try to sign in again.

Hi @unordmtlr , I notice your steps on the top of this thread mentioned "running the software as an administrator

", have you tried to launch fusion directly instead of "run as administrator"? Besides, please check the identity manager version used on your computer which can be checked by "Open file location" from task manager as below image shows.

Changing the default app for HTTPS from chrome to Microsoft Edge fixed this issue for me.
