Shell after scaling..?

So, kinda new to fusion 360, but not entirely new to CAD, have briefly used Rhino in the past, Stuck mostly to Solidworks and have been playing with blender and Fusion lately because "free sh*t, woo!"

Anyway, the problem: I have a sculpted body that's joined to two modeled bodies and I need to shell this entity. I had to adjust the scale before I could shell it, so that other parts could fit inside it. When I tried to shell, it straight up didn't work. Nothing I tried was working. Changed all the parameters, inside, outside, thickness, tangency... Then I remade the part because life is too short to waste on troubleshooting. When I redid the part I shelled the base part and then rolled back to before the shell and checked that the shell computed after I did ANYTHING to the model. When it came time to scale around my OEM parts, however, it failed. Roll back to before the scale and it's fine, scale afterwards, it's fine. Any ideas as to why this could be??

Help!

@Anonymous, can you share your model here?  I tried a simple case of a simple Sculpt body joined with a BRep body, then scaled up by 1.25, and shelled.  In general, scaling should not affect shelling, but there could be geometry-specific issues here.
