Sheet metal disabled

Hi,

as you can see in the attachment, whenever I try to create a new component all sheet metal rules are grayed out. I was in the sheet metal beta program and this bug was already reported to Mike Prom.

Back then Mike has acknowledged this to "The bug you reported is logged.  The sheet metal preview isn’t updated at the same rate as the rest of Fusion.  You should experience the new rule fix in April, May at the very latest."

Well, that's the last info I've received on the subject. I've sent a couple of more emails directly inquiring how to fix it but I did not get any reply so far. It has been months now so I hope someone from the Autodesk support team would be able to help.

In the meantime, Fusion was reinstalled together with Windows a dozen times. I am also working outside direct editing mode so I presume that's tied to the server, not my client as nothing changed.

I appreciate it,

Ivan

It's hard to tell from the screenshot, is the OK button greyed out?

Are you using a custom rules? I'm wondering if there is a problem with one of the custom Sheet Metal rules that causes this dialog to malfunction?

Can you use sheet metal by just creating new component and then switching to the sheet metal workspace like in the below screencast?

If you could point me back to your previous conversation, I may be able to provide an update on it. This doesn't appear to be a widespread issue as far as I can tell.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Hi Nathan, I don't have a clue what's causing it. Here's the latest gif capture. I'll rather have it as my error than Autodesk one but it does not look like it.

Forgot to mention, I have also followed your advice but the result is same. Everything is still grayed out as you can see on the previous image.

This is a bit of a long shot, but could you run the Diagnostic Log file command on the help menu and then attach the results to this forum thread? There may be some clues in the log files as to what is happening.

Another interesting data point would be to see if this issue occurs on other computers as well or if you created a new trial account if the issue was ongoing. This might help us figure out if the issue is machine specific or account specific.

One more test that may be worth going through is to to through the procedure in the below link to see if there is any change in behavior.

I haven't been able to locate your previous conversation with Mike, did it occur in the forum?
