Set Increments not saving settings

So one thing I've noticed is that whenever I set my incremental move (under Grid and Snaps, then Set Increments) it works fine for the session I set it in, but it never saves what I set it to. I haven't found a way to set a default value for it either. Sometimes it's at .1 inch or .01 inch, never at 1/16 (.0625) which I'd love it to be set at all the time by default.

Am I missing something?

95% of what I design doesn't need accuracy past 1/16" and placing stuff in my design that's not a 16th just makes it more difficult to build accurately.

Hi @WestonMFG,

Thanks for posting!

I'm sorry to hear that setting your increments for the incremental moves haven't been saving properly! Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce the issue here on my machine. Would you mind recording an Autodesk Screencast of the issue as it happens on your machine? I would just like to ensure that you are making all the right picks and clicks.

Would you also be able to send me your diagnostic log files from your machine? I have heard some murmurs of some users' settings not being saved, and those files *should* be able to tell me where things are going wrong. To collect these, click the "?" in the upper right corner of Fusion and select "Diagnostic Log Files" from the drop down menu as shown below.

Thanks in advance for that information! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns - I am always happy to lend a hand!

Cheers,

I just did a quick test here to check. OI set the incremental move to .0625 and then check the Incremental Move box.

Now if I open an old design, start a new design, or even restart Fusion 360 the incremental move setting persists.

Is this what you're doing or are you following another procedure?

Thanks,

Hi @mike.tessier

I've attached the diagnostics file. I'm pretty sure I've been clicking the button right that I need to in order to get incremental move working. Actually it's usually on all the time, just not set at the correct increments. It seems once I set the increments it's ok until a restart.

Thanks for looking into this.

Actually I just tested a restart and it still saved my settings. On Friday before the weekend I know I set my increments to 1/16 and this morning when I returned to work from the long weekend it was back to 0.1. I still haven't been able to figure out when the program decides to reset that value. I'm the only one who accesses this computer as well.

Any progress on looking into this problem?

It seems to change when I open save files as well.

I finally narrowed this down.

Whenever I go to the cam workspace and open a setup or a 2d profile cutting dialogue box it resets my Linear Increments to 0.1". It doesn't affect my rotation increments however.

It might be happening on other dialogues but those 2 in CAM always change my linear increments. Pattern doesn't seem to affect it.
