Retina Display - menu scaling

This has been going on for a bit but I cannot find anyone having posted about it.  Latest version of OSX (though this happened on previous) MBP 16"

I cannot get the menu to show up nicely via any combination of settings.

Please advise (see screenshot)

Having the data windows so narrow, with barely a digit to see makes it exceptionally annoying to use.

Did you have a try to drag the bottom-right corner of the dialog to enlarge it?

wow..  thats the trick! Thank you. Seems quite obvious - so not sure where I misfired on that one.
