"Feature" for Hobby Users Editable Documents

This feature has been full of problems for me, mostly when I click on "7 of 10" at the top to open "My Editable Documents" the list never appears.  When I click the home menu item to go to the same place, same thing, it shows the header, but the list never appears.  Often when I am in the folders and go to open a document shows as read only even though it was editable yesterday, when I open it it's about 50/50, it might open in editable state, or give a prompt for me to reload or make editable.  This whole feature is missing the polish, and functionality, of a piece of software at your level.

Confirmation to make read-only should be something I can turn off, I don't need it, and frankly you can flip documents off and on enough that the whole extra hassle is mostly pointless, effectively just present to provide problems to hobby users.  Maybe you do want all the education and hobby folks to just move on, it certainly feels that way these days.

I think printing out calibrated drawings has also been disabled, and those were useful as glue on drill guides for home projects.  There is no scenario in which the current subscription price is reasonable for a hobbyist like me, all the inconveniences just add up and make it like, "why bother with autodesk at all."  It seems to be that is a bad attitude to cultivate in people that might one day have the ability to choose what software they do buy for the "Real" projects.

Hi thanks for the feedback. Sorry to hear you feel this way. The education license has not changed, however, it is still the equivalent of the full professional version.

The active document setting is not intended to present problems, what you are reporting is not as-design.  There was a bug in the original implementation (related to the editable/read-only controls) that should be fixed now. Can you please try the latest version?

To receive the latest update:
1. Restart Fusion 360
2. Wait for the update to start, you'll see a small 1 appear on the job status icon (the clock)
3. Click on the clock icon to watch the progress
4. Click Restart when the update is ready
