Problems With drawings

Hi all.

Bit of an odd problem - I can't seem to open or make drawings anymore ! Old ones appear fine as thumbnails in the Data Panel but if you double click on them, it opens the correct Browser but with a plain white Canvas.

Interestingly enough, parts of the drawing do appear if you hover the mouse over where they 'should' be !

Graphics card is a fairly old AMD HD 6870 but that has more than enough grunt to run Fusion and works just fine in the 'Design' window - and it's obviously worked ok before now. As a hobby user, I can't say exactly when this problem started but it was all ok a few months ago.

I've reinstalled Fusion and checked for GPU updates.

Any ideas gratefully received !!

WALLACE

@brownw10

Hello, Wallace and welcome!  What is your OS?  You said you reinstalled Fusion, so it's probably safe to assume it is the latest version?

Yes - version Fusion 2.0.19994 x86_64. It updated itself only a few hours
ago.

Here's a screenshot of what I mean - I've opened the drawing (bottom left
in the Data Panel) but it doesn't appear - however bits of it do when the
mouse cursor is over it - if that makes sense ! (the cursor was there but
disappeared when I took the screenshot with the Snipping tool).

I'm sure it's probably just a setting somewhere and/or I'm being stupid . .
. .probably both !!

OS is Windows 11 on an unsupported CPU - (AMD FX 9590) but I imagine this isn't the issue - it as all fine when I last made a drawing a few months ago . . .

Hi @brownw10 & @CGBenner

This is a graphics issue.

Have a look at this article, it should help you set your Fusion instance up for the best graphics experience: https://clintbrown.co.uk/2023/12/20/fast-graphics-for-fusion-360/

Hello @ClintBrown3D

Thanks for wading in with some help - unfortunately, my shortcut doesn't end in 'Fusion360.exe' but 'FusionLauncher.exe' -  and it comes up with 'Target box is not valid' if I try to replace it with  'FusionDocStream\Autodesk\FusionDocAcad\AcCoreConsole.exe'

I've attached a screenshot of the shortcut properties.

Also - why did Microsoft have to break something that was working ? No - on second thoughts, don't answer that . . . .

W.

I can also report the issue. Setting the graphics to High Performance (on FusionLauncher.exe) did not help. Happens on all Direct X 9, 11 or OpenGL. This is quite a recent regression.

I was rather hoping a Fusion update this week might cure it - but no.

It's obviously an ongoing problem - there's an Autodesk support bulletin from August 16th detailing it - unfortunately, without a solution - leastways not that one that would work for me !!

I can't really complain as a 'Personal Use' user - and for the very occasional drawing I need, a screengrab of the sketch with the relevant dimensions does -  it's just slightly irritating that something that was working perfectly well isn't now.

Hopefully a few more people will bring this to their attention and we'll get a fix !

Thanks for your help anyway !!
