problem to select 2d pocket before my simulation

I have a stl and I want to do a cnc machine simulation. I want to select the 2d pockets. It's impossible for me to select a 2d pocket, usually we put the cursor on it and the 2d pocket becomes highlighted. For my part, nothing happens when I put the cursor on it and click on it.

.stl files have no selectable edges in Manufacturing

You can really only use 3D toolpaths on them.

You could try converting the mesh to a solid but this often fails if the part is very complex.

Depending on the complexity of the part it may be easier to Model it natively in Fusion
