Paint Selection Alt Tab Component drag

I rage quit using the program yesterday and Had a good sleep. here's the problem I found:

I was following this tutorial https://youtu.be/pgWWVcM5YJY to improve a Covid Face shield file.  I couldn't use the paint select tool as shown at 11:55. it just would not select anything.

I'm a fairly keyboard heavy programmer, so I use Alt+Tab a lot.

It turns out Fusion 360 does not recognize that the Alt key was released. It gets stuck in component drag mode.  When I go back to fusion I have to press and release the Alt button again before I can do just about anything in the program. I am guessing the same issue would happen if I was holding the Shift key and switched windows.

Windows 10 V1909

Fusion 360 2.0.7824

Hi

Thanks for posting. Are you facing the problem (Paint select) with the same model in the video?

Also, have you set the "selection face" to "body faces" before you click on paint select?

Good catch. Sorry you had to go through that. I'll follow up on it.

This is just a bug report. The program thinks the Alt key is pressed when
it is not.

That is correct. It appears that Alt+Tab creates an "alt is down" condition in the UI while in a direct modeling (non parametric) environment. The remedy is to press Alt again.

Sorry for the trouble. No idea when this can be fixed but it is marked urgent.

I was able to clear the Alt is down by pressing and unpressing alt again. At least I didn't have to restart it each time.
