Nesting Preview not generating an outcome

I've been trying to use the Nest preview for some time, I've modeled the components, defined material and packaging and component qty, but as I start the nest study, Fusion doesn't generate the sheets from the study.

 

Any known problem that could cause this issue?

You may want to use Arrange instead of Nest.  Please attach your model.  If you do not know how to attach your model, open it in Fusion360, select the File menu and then choose Export and save the .F3D file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a reply forum post to attach it.

I've already used the arrange feature, but with many of the cases I deal with, more than one sheet is needed, the Nest feature would be of great help if it worked for me...

You can have as many sheets of material as you desire.  The trick is to sketch each sheet as a "separate" sketch.  I copied your components multiple times to demonstrate.  If you right click and edit Manufacturing Model 1 under the Manufacturing environment, you will see my arrangements.  Model attached.

Sure this is a workaround, but it doesn't solve my problem, which is that nest studies aren't generating.

 

For arrange to work I have to work with component quantities until they can all be placed in one sheet (2x3 m), waiting for fusion to process in each step, taking a lot of time for just one setup...

I'm also getting this issue. the nesting process worked for another model I'm working on and it made the workflow to my laser cutter so much smoother. I tried to replicate it for a letter rack I'm making and it hasn't worked:

It's such a fantastic feature, I'm really keen to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I am not sure if this is the real cause of the problem but here goes.  First thing I did was create a Sheet Metal rule for your model.

I then converted all your model bodies to components.  Next, using the Sheet Metal tool Convert to Sheet Metal, I converted all the components using the sheet metal rule above.

I did a Nesting Study of a couple of components, with 1 ea quantity, and it brought Fusion 360 to its knees! It took every bit of 2 minutes to calculate this.  It completed as show below.

I went back and added two more components and the Nesting Study started but then quite.  So I do not know if your computer can do better because I do not think a nest of only two components at a time will be much good to you.  I have this feeling all the intricate notching has some effect on the efficiency.  Model is attached.

ahhh, that's very interesting. Thanks very much for this workaround. I'll try a different joinery approach then and see how it goes for then. It's a shame this is a limitation as finger joints are a nice approach to laser cut plywood jobs.

I am also missing nested sheets in nesting study.  Did you figure it out?
