Meshmixer won't launch.

Hello,

I just ran the automatic update for Meshmixer on my laptop and now I can't get the application to open.

It was starting to update when it noticed the meshmixer app was open. INstaller prompted me to allow it to shut down the app during the update and I agreed. Once it completed the update and was done I went to open but it had an error message saying the app was shut down improperly and promted me to send a message to Autodesk. Now I can't get past the message prompting me to send error report to Autodesk. I uninstalled an reinstalled, still no luck. Any ideas?

Hi @robbyt555

Thanks for posting! This post may be better suited in the meshmixer forum here - the resources there should be able to help out!

In the meantime, a good starting point may be to try to uninstall and reinstall the software (link here to download).

Hello,

I had the same problem with Meshmixer and Win 10, the program doesn´t open and the solution that I finally found was deactivate the Microsoft Edge program , you need to have Microsoft Edge closed and  then  go to C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe and there  make a rename to the  file Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbweold  it is all, Meshmixer will open without problem.

This does not work for me, Meshmixer sits in system tray and does not launch. Displays a white window on taskbar when mouse over just not on main screens.

I am having the same problem, I have uninstalled and reinstalled, changed the folder name of Microsoft Edge and still having the same issue. Did you resolve it?

I did find the problem and solve it,

I have 3 screens, two large top screens and one small laptop screen,

They are arranged in a triangle with the laptop screen being blow and in the middle of the two large screens.

When Mesh Mixer launches it was opening off of the three screens in non-viewable space.

I have to mouse over the task bar MeshMixer icon to see a mini version of the MeshMixer window that should be open,

Right click on this mini window and click on maximize to get the window to again appear on my main screens.

Hope this helps.

I am using 2 screens and had a similar issue. I noted when I click meshmixer on the taskbar, a flash of the program showed and disappeared to the right side of the screen. Therefore, I suppose the application had opened the program on a different screen which was not supposed to be there. Therefore, I just roll to the meshmixer icon on the taskbar after running the program. A small preview window showing the program was running will pop up on the taskbar, then I right clicked on Meshmixer preview window and selected "Maximize". The program will again show normally on the main screen.

Hey! Thanks a million, I should have tagged this as solved. I found the same solution last year when I was having the issue. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
