Laptop for Inventor / Fusion360

Hello! I am an educator who have recently moved from solidworks to autodesk. My use involves a lot of tutoring where students send their files and I record the screen as I show them how to solve their problems or suggest design improvements.  The students make jewelry and ceramics from their designs through different processes including 3d-printing, lost wax, green sand and slipcasting.

As my old workstation has become old and slow, I need a new laptop that can handle this use with ease and speed. It must handle complex modeling in fusion 360 / inventor and run screen recording software simultaneously.

Will this one be a good choice: https://eshop.advania.no/lenovo-thinkpad-p15-g1-156/cat-p/c36159/p1001596199/l_en ? If not, what would you change in the setup?

Hi

Thank you for posting. I've experienced with Quadro RTX 3000, it works like a charm! but I'm not sure how well the workstation is built. If there are no heating issues or anything else, you can have it. Check LENOVO forum about this workstation's review and posts.

Quick suggestion: If there is no problem, I would suggest you build a PC within that similar budget. Pc has many cooling options and component costs are much less. But if mobility is the best priority for you then I won't suggest pc.

Thank you! Great forum! Mobility is a priority as I need to bring my computer to classrooms, workshops and home. I have read about the new lenovo p15-series, that cooling has been a priority and improved from the p53. You do not think the i7-10875h will be a bottleneck in the setup? (Given cooling is not an issue).
