I've been able to repeat this crash almost every time. I will post a screencast when I have a second.
Open existing design #1
Insert - Derive - open existing design #2
Choose component from browser of design #2
Insert Derive is complete
Insert - Derive - open existing design #3
Choose component from browser of design #3
Hit Ok = Crash
I can save in between - let it crash, and then insert derive from design #3 after restarting Fusion and it works. I can reverse the order with the same effect. I can use any component from any design with the same effect. I can try to insert derive into any file with the same effect.
To add to the fun - I'm now experiencing some odd behavior.
I went back to one of the designs that had components derived into a model I was working on. I changed a user parameter - saved, closed, and went back to the model to update the link.
It recognized the change and prompted me to "get latest." I was met with "1 Component is still out of date. Run the Get Latest command again."
When I edit that derive feature from the timeline - it is referencing the OTHER model that I had "insert-derived" components from.
Screencasts incoming.
Hi @Ivan_Nuno,
Thank you for posing in the community!
Sorry to hear that! I created some files containing some components and tested this; then I was unable to recreate the behavior on my end.
I would like to take a closer look at this, so would you mind sharing the files with me? If it is fine with you, could you create a public link to the design files and post in this thread? You might like to send it to me via email (kanehiko.saito@autodesk.com).
** Please make sure to enable the "Allow item to be downloaded" option in the dialog box.
Also I would appreciate your creating a Screencast!
If you have any questions, please let me know and I'm happy to help!
Thanks.
Here is where it happens on the project I was working on. I'll work on getting files exported.
Hi @Ivan_Nuno,
Thank you for creating the Screencast!
In the video I saw a warning message in the "Cabinet 3" file - the "Kitchen Drawer" component seems to have an update. Did you try to run GetLatest before deriving the file?
Thanks.
Sorry for the delayed response - it's not as predictable of a crash as I thought.
After "Get Latest" these files still crashes. With new files, it is hit or miss on the crash - and the order in which things are saved, opened, derived, closed, etc.
Hi @Ivan_Nuno,
Thank you for your update!
Sorry to hear that trouble is still persisting. Can you please share a public link to the design files with me so that I can further investigate this behavior on my end?
You might like to post the link in this thread or send it to me via email (kanehiko.saito@autodesk.com).
Please keep me updated! If you have a question, please let me know.
Thanks.
Here's a new screencast and links to the files. Let me know if I can provide any more info. Thanks!

Hi @Ivan_Nuno,
I am very sorry for the delay in responding! - I was out of office until today.
Thank for your sharing files and creating the new Screencast! I just downloaded those files.
I will check this on my end and will get back with you once I have something to share! Thank you for your patience.
[Edit]
Again I appreciate your sharing all the information about the issue!
I was able to recreate this on my end. I've logged a bug with our development team for the further investigation. (internal ID: FUS-45855). I will update in this thread once I hear back from the team!
I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you - we appreciate you bringing this to our attention!
I also see it works if I would save the file after inserted "Cabinet 1" and then reboot Fusion as you shared in the very first post.
Thanks.
