Import DWG

Is the function to import a DWG not available in the free, not for commercial use version?  What I've found in the forums is to upload in the data panel, but I do not see that option.

The ability to Upload DWG files is available with the Fusion 360 Personal License.  What you do with it after it is upload is not much.  You cannot open it in Fusion 360 from the Cloud.  You can open it in the Web Database and view it if that helps.

If you can't open it to edit I don't see a point.  Fortunately the thing I just drew in NanoCAD is very simple and can be drawn again in F360 in a few minutes.  This part of the data panel does not show up on my computer.

Some users, including myself, use the Web Database to share files for viewing or distribution only.  You can place many types of files on the Web Database besides CAD data.

When I searched import DWG to F360 an answer (the only answer) was to use the upload button in the Date Panel.  Answers to other questions implied you could import the object, but not the dimensions.

With a Fusion 360 Subscription, you can use the Open command, under File menu, and open an AutoCAD DWG file or you can use the Upload icon on the Data Panel.  You are correct, you only get model sketches with no dimensions, if they exist at all.  If your DWG contains a 3D model, it will import as a solid body.  Here is an example of a DWG import on my system.

I tried uploading the DWG but it I don't see it online.  I saved it as a DXF file and was able to open it.  However I only have a sketch that cannot be extruded.

If you would like to attach the DXF, I will give it a try for you.

The DXF imported fine except it reported not having any assigned Units.  The Profile has a couple of broken points in it.  If you use "Divide and Conquer" method of diagnosis, it is an easy process to repair.  If you do not know what divide and conguer is, simply edit the sketch, sketch a line diagonally across the sketch, not touching an edges with the endpoints, then move is along to identify the broken points.

@Cad4fish

Some of your dimensions do not make logical sense to me.

What happens to alert you to the broken points?

Edit the sketch and sketch a line across the geometry.

Note that there is a shaded profile on one side of the line but not the other.

If we move the line note the shaded profiles.

This would indicate that the breaks (might be microscopic) are at these two arcs.

Add the two missing Coincident Constraints and the entire profile now shades...

The angles are not important.  That top one is interesting.  It was supposed to be 6-5/8.

Edit the Attached to whatever dimensions you need.

Thanks, but I had already done it from scratch in F360.  Only took a few minutes to redo.

I created a different item in NanoCAD and saved it as a DXF.  I was able to open the file in F360 but I cannot select it to scale it up.  It's 6" long but came into F360 as 0.2" long.  It's a flat wrench.  I need to be able to make the opening 7/8" wide so I need to be able to select the object and then select two points as the reference distance.

I tried "Sketch.ShowUnderconstrained" and got the message "No active sketch exists".
