How do you add text in new autodesk fusion 360?
Can you still download legacy? I knew how to do this in legacy.

Adding text is still a sketch based function. While in sketch mode, you will find the command under Create. Take a look at the screen capture.
No, you cannot return to the Legacy User Interface (UI). It has been removed from Fusion 360 Preferences.

I'm seeing this and I'm having a hard time figuring out the new user interface. I just got done switching like a month ago and this is the first time I've had to do text myself.
"sketch" is missing from mine.
The first icon from the left is the sketch icon.
You should get tool tips if you hover with your mouse pointer over the icon.
how do you write out text then?
do you have a tutorial for this? They changed text completely.
You click on the sketch button.
Then you need to pick a face or construction plane to sketch on.
Then you select Sketch Text.

Step 1. Right click on the workplane or planar body face where you would like to place text.
Step 2. Left click select New Sketch.
Step 3. Select sketch Text as shown in @jhackney1972 a image.
File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here if you can’t figure it out and someone will create a video using your actual file.
I don't have it for either. Top bar after tools it's not there and as well as "new sketch" area to as well.
I see it's a bit different than the old one.
Now I see how they have it set up. Never mind on that alone then.
I just downloaded Fusion360 this month (Feb 2020) to learn it and make parts with my new 3d printer. I cannot figure out how to put text on my objects. Has anyone figured it out yet?
Please take a look at the attached Screencast for how to add text to your model. By the way, Fusion 360 is an auto-update application. All users automatically run the same version.

Thank you so much for the video. My mistake was not clicking the "new sketch". I thought I was already in a new sketch. Again thanks for the video.
Make sure you are in "Design Mode".
Click on "Create Sketch"
Click where you are designing said item or around said item.
Should be under the "Create" tab.
Should see "Text".
I'm trying to follow these instructions, but when I click to add the text, the "Text" window doesn't appear. Am I missing something?
Here's a screenshot of what it looks like after I click on the sketch area to add text:
Have you been using dual monitors - could it be on the second monitor?
What version of Windows are you running?
Have you tried restarting Fusion and the problem persists?
Have you tried rebooting the computer and the problem persists?
Is this problem observed only on this file or is it observed in all files?
Hi,
1. Can you show the process in a screencast.
2. Does it also happen in another design
günther
That must be it. I had originally opened Fusion 360 when I had external monitors connected. When I tried using the text, I had disconnected the monitors. After I restarted Fusion 360, the text window started coming up.
I'm using Fusion 360 for Mac (Mojave 10.14.6)
hi im really struggling to get the text to the object... help pleaseeeee
Please attach your model and indicate where you want the text to go on a screen capture. To attach your model, open it in Fusion 360, select the File menu then Export and save to your hard drive. Then Attach it to the Attachments section of a post reply.
