How do I download my project files to my computer for a backup

Is there a way to download your project files to your computer or other source as a back-up in case your account or cloud files get lost?

Hello @Anonymous,

thanks for posting. The following article provides steps on how to create a backup of a Fusion 360 design: How to make a local archive (back-up) file in Fusion 360
Usually, the designs need to be backed up individually.

If none of the Fusion 360 data in your project contains references to other Fusion 360 designs, a quick alternative might be the following:

  1. Clear local user cache for Fusion 360: How to clear local user cache in Fusion 360
  2. Open all the Fusion 360 designs from a project in Fusion 360 Desktop App
Alternatively: select all the designs from a project in your data panel, right-click and "Add to local cache"
  3. Create a backup of the files by copying them from your local cache folder "F", see: How to locate locally cached files in Autodesk Fusion 360

Please accept as solution if my post fully resolves your issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

All,

Thank you for this.  I am trying to do a full migration of all my working files and I was wondering if there is a bulk way to do this.  I have several thousand design files so downloading each is restrictive.

thanks,

Jon
