Fusion 360 Problems

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but here we go. I recently got this program, and I didn't use it much until this week. First problem: When it updates, once it finishes, it says that the update failed. Every time I open it it has to go through it's update, then it fails. Second Problem: When I'm working on a project, it will just freeze up so I can't do anything at all. Like, I can still right click and the little menu pops up, but nothing in the work space actually moves, but the numbers and coordinates do. Sometimes, it will be working fine, but then it just crashes. This is the script from my last session. I deleted the ones before just to make it easier to read. This was a failed update and a frozen work space.

Do you have enough free space on the disk? Because I once faced with the similar update failures where the log file claimed about non-deleted files. And in my case the reason was the fact that disk C: had only 500 MB free space, while during the update process it consumed up to 1 GB. (I have relatively small SSD as system disk.)

There seems to be some trouble overwritting a file. Are there any rogue streamer.exe, fusion360.exe, or other processes related to Fusion 360 running in the background? It may be a good idea to try and reboot the computer.

If that doesn't help, can you try performing a clean uninstall and then re-installing?

@Anonymous Can you provide a screenshot of any error message you're getting when you're opening a design? It will also be helpful to upload a copy of your diagnostic log files.

Hello Guys...can someone to help me?...I cant instal the Fusion from the installer provided on the Autodesk page...an pop up error mesage is appearing and also I can provide to you the crash log....Tried several times, but no succes to instal. I s there any way to get a clean setup file or launcher, without these issues when installing? Thank you!

Can you try right clicking on the installer and selecting Run As Administrator?

You might also try installing Fusion 360 using the single thread switch in the command prompt. See the below link for instructions.

Thank you for your support. well, i have changed the name of the installer, as iti is specified in the article, but I am lost for sure on the 5. and 6. steps:).... So...using terms for dumb and dummies, after renaming the installer.....what should I do , in more noob.ish..terms?: I dont know how to change the location of downloads, as it is writtten in that article....and why should I do that?...well.....can you help me in more little and simple steps?Thank you a lot!!!

In the command prompt:

cd

Is the Change Directory command. So you should use it to change the directory of the command prompt to the directory that the installer is stored in.

For example, if the installer was my "Downloads" folder in windows, I would use the command

CD C:\Users\chandln\Downloads

to change the active directory of the command prompt. You'll notice that the directory should change in the command prompt if you do this correctly.

After changing the directory I could then run the silent install by typing in

“Fusion 360 Client Downloader.exe" -o single

It should look something like:

Tough night for me:)....the installer is in my Download folder, but when running the command CD C:\users\chandIn\Downloads, it tells me that "the sistem cannot find the path specified"....my path to downloads folder is C\users\Administrator/Downloads...maybe this fact is changing all the data when prompting that specific command in cmd.exe? Also I tried the command that is shown in the last screenshot..

Thanks for the update and sorry for all the confusion. I should have been more explicit. Chandln is my Windows User Account name. Your should be something different.

The directory after User is custom for everyone one who signs into that computer. So for me its:

C:\Users\chandln\...

However, for everyone else it will be something different.

If you're not sure what your username is, try using the Windows variable to get there. Like this:

CD %userprofile%\downloads

It will looks something like this.

By the way, thanks for all the great feedback on this solution article, I'm definitely going to update it to make it easier to understand. Let me know if this single thread install works or not. I'm invested!

Guys, I can't express enough my gratitude for the support of Nathan, for this helping support service of Autodesk, which is Perfect! The care for the customers is REALLY TRUE!.... my issue is 99% solved, but iti is in progress to be solved 100%. The important thing is that I can work again in Fusion. The rest is just small details...Nathan was providing the best work and his skills are truely awesome. It is a real asset of Autodesk and I haven't enough words to describe him. He helped me a lot and I recomand his services to everybody. I am impressed of the quick answers, posts and the proficient care for the customer. Good job , Autodesk!
