Is there a way to assign a shortcut to this command? And other commands in the context menu?

not currently, no.  Shortcuts are limited to toolbar icons, other than a few built-in shortcuts, unfortunately.

 As assemblies get larger, this becomes very cumbersome. Would be great to click on an entity and a hotkey and have it in the browser. 

I second the "Find in Browser" hotkey idea..

Third this! it Would be super useful to be able to find a part in the browser with a hotkey.
