Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community!

It looks like you're getting an error that's referenced in this article. Please do the following:

  • Perform a clean uninstall of Fusion 360 using the Fusion Cleanup Tool
  • Make sure you Clear the TEMP folder
    1. Click the Windows Start button.
    2. In the Run box type %TEMP% and press Enter
    3. Highlight and delete all files. Ignore any files in use.
  • Disable User Account Control from Control Panel
    1. Access User Control Panel from Start Menu > Control Panel User Accounts and Family Safety > User Account.
    2. Click on User Account Control settings.
    3. Move the Slider to Never Notify.
    4. Click OK to make the change effective.
    5. Restart your computer.
  • Disable any antivirus
  • Re-download Fusion 360.
  • Run the installer as admin - right-click > Run as administrator

Please accept as solution if my post fully resolves your issue, or reply with additional details if the you are still not able to install Fusion 360.

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you please expand on what is happening now? Can you try to re download Fusion from here? Are you receiving any error messages that you can screenshot?

I uninstalled Fusion360 in windows10 then I ran Fusion360 cleaner. Both
completed successfully. Then I downloaded Fusion360 installer from your
email link. Instalization went to 99% then error msg. See attached files.
I have been using Fusion360 successfully on this computer for over a year
until I received the update error message.
Please advise me if you need any other information from me.
Thank you, Ted Miller

Hi @Anonymous,

There are still no files attached. When you're replying to the post, are you scrolling down (past the screencast insert section) to the attachments? Please make sure that the remove icon is next to your file to conform that it is completely attached to the post.

Hi @Anonymous,

Please try :

  1. Perform a manual clean uninstall instead
  2. Clear the TEMP folder and disable user account control from control panel (steps in my original response)
  3. Re-download fusion 360
  4. Run Fusion as admin (right-click > Run as administrator)

If this doesn't work, please attach a new copy of your log files. Thanks!

In the event of a failed Fusion 360 Update, should we add to this post or create a new post?
