Hi;

I am looking to switch from SW to Fusion mainly because it handles files better, however the main question I have is:

How safe are files in the cloud ( I am not concerned about copying or anything like that ) purely if I go back to a project in say a years time is it guaranteed to be there.? I accept I can also save to PC but this sort of defeats the object & may cause version errors.

What are common protocols that people use here.?

Thanks

Mike

Speaking purely as an Autodesk customer (I do have two commercial licenses for my own use), I've never had an issue accessing my old files, and I have some stretching back to the early days of Fusion, Oct. of 2014. Those files are still there and open just fine. In regards to the CAM side of things, you may find that very old toolpaths are no longer valid (unless protected), as we occasionally make improvements to toolpaths and sometimes force a recalculation.

Thanks Seth,

Its good to hear you can go back to 2014 ! I am just concerned that should there be an Autodesk crash or hack valuable work could be lost & I would have no control to get it back, ie: customer projects... But I guess that could be the same for my pc.

Thanks

Mike

I have not seen the need to have an offline storage but it is possible to export your files in fusion .f3d and/or in a CAD natural format, such as .step
