Changing project admin and project name

Hi,

I want to leave a project group and turn over the admin role to someone else. I also want to export everything in the project to an other project. If that is not possible, I would like to change the name of the project. As i understand it, I need direct help with this, since there doesn't seem to exist a feature in a360 to do this yourself as a user. I've tried following this old thread to solve it:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/project-members-replace-project-admin/m-p/7682019#...

but the UI is different today. So I need help.

Best regards,

Marcus Bilgec

Hi @marcusbilgec

Thanks for posting! It looks like you have some questions about project management in a Fusion 360 Team hub.

When you say you want to export everything to another project, do you mean you want to copy the data into a new project (and maintain the data in the original project), or do you want to move everything over? You can move files and project subfolders between projects in a team hub by using the Move command (the Copy command will show up right next to the move command when a file is selected). The Move command can be accessed as shown below:movedatateamhub.gif

I've also shown how to add another user as a project administrator and rename a project in the screencast below - I hope this will help! You cannot remove yourself as project admin in a project you originally created, but you can add new project administrators. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ok. I would like to move everything, not copy (even if it would make me less nervous of loosing files). Still, I don't see the "admin" button. I suspect it is because I do not have fusion team. I also don's see the project that I want to move the files to. Maybe because I'm not admin of that project. So a following question would be if I could pay for a minimal subscription period of fusion team, perform the move and then unsubscribe.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! You are not seeing the Admin button because you are working in a personal hub - I apologize for this confusion.

You may be entitled to a team hub free of charge, but it is not really something you can apply and then remove- you would have to set up your team in the team hub and then work within that hub. This is because, if you move your files to a location in a team hub, you will want to continue to access that team hub. If you'd like to set up a team hub please let me know and I will get you in touch with the Adoption team! You can learn more about team hubs at this link.

In a personal hub, there is not a way to leave a project and turn over the Admin role to someone else - projects in personal hubs don't really have admin permissions. You can rename projects in the same way as shown in my previous post, but you cannot move files from a project you created to a project created by another user (or in a different personal hub). This is why the project is not being shown when you go to move it.

If you are trying to move the entire project to a project folder created by another user, you will need to export local archive copies of the designs and then upload them to the desired folder in your Fusion data panel or in the web browser - I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. Please let me know if you have any questions - I am happy to help.
