Can't give sketches dimensions

I'm having an issue giving shapes dimensions in the 2d sketch. When ever I make a shape, it ignores the dimensions entered and just locks to whatever size it was dragged to. For example if you make a circle and type 2mm and press tab or enter, it will ignore that size. I can go back and edit the dimension, but this sometimes interferes with other constraints and is very annoying. I've used fusion 360 for a while and never ran into this issue before nor have I found someone else with the same issue. I've tried the obligatory restart/reinstall.

are you running on Windows 7?  There is an issue reported in the threads below related to Win7:

note that Win7 is no longer a supported platform for Fusion

I am running windows 10, but running fusion 360 in compatibility mode as suggested by @lance.carocci seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks for the help!

So i have been trying to figure out how to sketch a form a of trapezoid so i get to the sketch make the 2 point rectangular get it to size then i go to edit sketch dimensions and click the 2 corner lines and it brings up the degrees but its locked at 90 degrees and wont allow me to alter the angle even when i enter with the 90 degrees it gives me constraint error.. but im also not sure how to remove constraints to make the rectangle editable. or is this one of those shapes you have to manually build using the line command ?
