Can't extrude/join/cut from a coincident face!

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a very funny problem. Have got fusion installed on 2 computers and 1 of them is giving me issues. I can't extrude any coincident face and can't perform joins, combines etc if the faces are coincident. If I try it on the other computer the same function works just fine! The computer that's giving me issues is my main work pc so I need it to work just as well as the 2nd pc which is my portable (surface book).

Thanks

Mehul

Hi Mehul,

Thank you for posting! What happens when you perform those commands on the machine that you are seeing the issue with? Does Fusion give you any errors?

Would you be able to share a public link to the design with me so that I can take a closer look? Also, a screencast of the issue would be helpful for me to better understand what is going on.

Hi Masa,

It's not a design specific problem. I've attached a screencast to show this problem in action.

Thanks

Thank you for your response! That's very strange!

Honestly I'm not sure what is causing the issue right now but could you try a couple things for me?

  • Clear user cache data from the Help menu in the top right corner

clear user cache data.png

  • Restore defaults in the Preferences menu

restore defaults.png

  • Check if you are using the latest version (2.0.3133) of Fusion 360, and if not, try installing the latest version

Please let me know if this helps!

Hey Masa,

Ok I tried all those things and checked the version, it's the latest. Still having the same issue. I've also noticed, when shutting down, I get a command console that pops up for a few seconds that has nslookup.exe on it. That doesn't happen in any other machine.

Thanks & Regards

Thank you for the update! I'll check with my colleagues to see if they have any ideas how to fix the issue. In the meantime, could you attach the diagnostic log files here? I will circle back here as soon as I have more information to share!

Hi Mehul,

Could you try the following items to see if that makes any differences?

If these don't help, I will need to continue to investigate. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for the update! Glad to hear the issue is solved! Just for future reference, may I ask which one solved the issue? Did you try both?

The uninstall tool and then restarting the PC followed by a new fresh installation. I also removed all cached data.

Thanks
