can't delete tangent constraint and apply to different geometry

I accidentally "missed" and applied tangent constraints to the wrong arcs.

 

I deleted and tried to apply to the right one, but get a solve error, as shown in the screencast.

 

This happens a lot as I fuss with this belt grinder design; I've taken to just deleting the lines and making new ones.

 

Solver bug?

I think you might be missing one small step. There are really two constraints to deal with here. One is a tangent constraint and one is a coincident constraint for the endpoint of the line.

 

Before applying the new tangent constraint:

  1. Delete the old tangent constraint
  2. Select the endpoint of the line
  3. Select the Delete Coincident command from the right click menu
  4. Then add the tangent constraint
