bug with cylindrical engraving

Hi,

I have had problems with trying to machine a customers logo wrapped around a cylinder. Everything is programmed correctly and the simulation runs fine. When I post the program the CAM program missed part of some of the letters off and cuts a bit of air above the job in this area. In the simulation everything is perfect. I have tried everything. I have even tried re posting separately just to machine the parts of the letters that have been missed off which still doers not work.

According to my feed back from the titans of cnc face book group this is a bug problem which sometimes  happens from importing text (Customers logo). Can we get this issue fixed please.

Kind regards,

Michael

Hi @michaelthompson83,

Thank you for posting in the forum, and I am sorry to hear about the issue.

If you simulate the NC code here, does the simulation look correct? If the simulation is correct in NC viewer, I assume something should be fixed on your machine side or the post so it will generate codes correctly for your machine.

Could you share a public link to the design that contains toolpath with me? Also, which post processor did you use to generate code? If you used a customized one, would you mind attaching the post file as well?

No the tool path is incorrect in the NC viewer so the code that is posted is definitely not correct and does not represent the tool path as it should be in the simulation. With the middle line of the "B" and also the bottom line of all of the letter "E"s missing. I used the Haas post and it is definetly not a G code or M code issue.

I will share the file shortly

Hi @michaelthompson83,

Thank you for sharing the file with me! Did you use the generic "Haas with a axis" post processor?

I got a weird result when I posted your toolpath with the genric Haas with a axis post, and I think this is a bug.

I'll escalate this issue to the development team and post an update here as soon as I receive more information from them. (CAMP-919)

I apologize for the trouble.
