BUG: Project to Surface curve linking interrupted by prior features on form

I was playing in this file to expand my control of a co-molded grip beyond splitting forms from a sketch. I used the intersect curve tool to get an approximation of my desired curve and then projected that 3D curve onto my surface. The projection link will only update if the swept cut operation is suppressed. The swept cut was a remnant from a prior experiment.

Found a tip to suppress other features on this related issue: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/project-onto-surface-not-updating/m-p/8411...

Project to Surface history link seems unhappy if there are prior operations performed to the form body. Suppress the prior feature and it updates on next edit!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for reporting this!

I am terribly sorry for the delay in responding to you.  Also thank you for sharing the design.  I think I was able to recreate this behavior on my end; however, in order to get a better understanding of this issue, can you please watch  this movie and let me know if I misunderstood how you were working.  I would appreciate if you create a screencast and share it in this thread as well!  This link details how to use Screencast.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks.

Hi @saito.kh

I viewed your screencast. Yes, this is the issue. The prior feature interrupts the link update of the projected curves. A similar issue was reported in another comment in the linked issue previously. Without that tip I would have been stuck!

The model was created to explore techniques for creating a styled compound curve that wraps around a 3D form.

Hopefully this gets logged and addressed in future updates.
Thanks,
Ivan
