Boat propeller design from grabcad.com

Hi Lars,

I'm new to Fusion 360 and I'm trying to learn it so I may someday find it as a tool to help me make some money in my retirement. I've been watching your youtube videos almost exclusively as I find yours are the best explained and follow along videos.

I have a project where I want to model a boat propeller that is similar to a design I pulled down from grabcad.com. I tried on my on several times using your example and another on using the coil and loft tools. I am unable to get Fusion 360 to cooperate. Is it possible if I send you the design that you may use it to create a youtube video on how to make the model.

Also, I subscribed to your channel and newsletter but I don't know how to get notifications for your webinars which I would like to attend when you present it live.

Thanks for all your help

James

@lars_christensen - Do you have any upcoming webinars?

There's a youtube video below that shows step by step how to create a propeller in case it is helpful.

Thanks,

Hello Lars

I've watched all three of those videos from NewbiesPlus and in part one he
shows how to build the model using the coil and loft tools. I followed his
example but there are differences in the design I sent you and what is
produced in that video. When I use the coil tool, I specify the entire
height of the cylinder whereas in NewbiesPlus video he does not. Also the
blade shape I'm looking for has on end that is almost circular. I get all
kinds of warnings from Fusion 360 when I apply the loft tool to the two coil
edges and the tool will not extend to make a new body properly.

So my dimensions are 10mm diameter, 20 mm, height, and 14mm pitch for the
entire height.

Anyway, Thanks for the response and thanks for all of the great videos.

Regards,

James
