Black/Blue lines again, advise

Hi, I need some good soul to help me with this very basic problem I face in designing in most of my projects.
I understood I have to start to create a sketch on the origin of the page so the lines go black.
In this case, I have the bigger rectangle fixed at the origin, but how about the other sketches how can I make them black? I don't want to connect all together they will be printed apart.
I use to make sketches and move vertically so I can make extrusions where I need, Is that the correct way to do it?
in this case, I can not extrude the rectangle on the RIGHT side why is that?
If I try to edit I can not edit on the vertical side as well, I understand that is because the original sketch was made in another plane, how do you professionals do that? Thanks for any inputs ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi,

You did everything in a 3 D sketch.
You should preferably sketch on the surface that serves as the base for the extrusion.

Hi Guenther, thanks for the advice, I thought would be clean project if you make only one Sketch. In this case if I have to change some parameters in the first sketch I can not see the second Sketch because is down to the timeline, Am I wrong?

Cheers.

Hi,

If the 2nd sketch has a reference to the first one there are no problems.
This reference is made either by placing the second sketch on a body surface or directly to the first sketch via projection, as I did in the screencast.
If you then make changes in the first sketch, they will be taken over into the second sketch.

I will try to find something about the references you are suggesting I don't know how to do that, neither how this works.

Thanks
