Automatic creation of holes in the object "A", opposite the holes in the object "B".

hello, I hope I don't want too much, but the task is this: I have, for example, a profile that holds something together. There are holes in the profile. Can I make it so that, in the parts to which I apply this profile (for example, two sheets of plywood connected by this very profile), holes are automatically created opposite the holes in the profile?

Yes, you can do this.  Use a sketch on object B, project the holes from object A, then use Extrude or Hole to cut the holes into object B.  If the holes in object A move, the sketch projection will update correctly, and the holes in object B will update.

Instead of a thousand words - we move the profile with fasteners to the object (in this case, to plywood) - and holes appear in the plywood (it can be anything - two metal parts, it doesn’t matter).

Hi,

Automatically by aligning the parts the holes cannot be generated but only in the way  @jeff_strater has written and existing or projected profiles are used for a new extrusions (cut).

sorry, I don't fully understand this - I understand the basics of sketching, but it looks like I still need to sketch already on top of the finished objects. Could you make a video please, how will it be possible?

Hi,

Either you use the hole profiles from an existing sketch or you create a new sketch and project the holes into it.

I still don't get it. You said the same thing in different words. Thanks for trying to help.

Hi,

1. Extrude (Cut) requires a profile (circle...)

2. Profile are created in sketches

this can be a sketch created on the metal profile (sketch1;1)  or the projected profile of the holes in a separate sketch (sketch2).
