2D drawing bug report

Screen Shot 2017-11-01 at 11.18.56.png

As I showed in the screenshot, I have a weird sheet which I red circled it. By saying weird, I mean I cannot click and view it, cannot delete it, cannot move it. I got this while I'm creating a sheet and Fusion 360 crashed!

Is there a solution? or someone had this issue before me?

Thank you!!!!!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Fusion community!

Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this issue here on my machine. This leads me to believe that the issue might be specific to your design. Would you mind sharing the design that this issue occurred in? The article linked here describes the many ways that you can share your designs to collaborate with others. For the purposes of troubleshooting this issue, I would recommend sharing a public link to the design. This will allow me to download and make modifications to the design here on my end while leaving it intact within your project.

Does this happen every time you go to add a sheet to that drawing? Or did the issue go away after restarting Fusion after the crash?

I did some digging into the crash report you had submitted (thank you for submitting that, by the way!) and it looks like you are the first person to crash in this sort of way. Any information you can share as to how this happened will help immensely in troubleshooting this crash. Was there any particular action that you had performed just before this issue occurred? Could you provide a list of steps to reproduce this crash?

Thanks in advance for the information and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns - I am always happy to lend a hand!

Cheers,

Mike Tessier

Thank you for responding! Unfortunately I cannot share design file with you, it's confidential for now.

This problem only happen to this particular 2D drawing file, and it doesn't go away whatever I do with Fusion 360, close, restart. If I create a new 2D drawing from my design, there's no issue.

Regarding to reproduce this crash, I remember in this 2D drawing, after I finished 3 sheets, I created the fourth sheet, trying to edit a little bit. Then Fusion crashed, and I restart it and recovered my file. However the fourth sheet stays there, I couldn't edit or delete it anymore. I'm able to add a fifth sheet, but just cannot get rid of the fourth one.

Also, I noticed that I was able to export as PDF, PDF doesn't contains that fourth sheet. It's like a "Ghost" sheet, without containing any data but showing itself there.

Thank you!!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for getting back to me!

I'm sorry to hear that the design is confidential. I would just like to note that your design is protected by the A360 Terms of Service, linked here for your reference.

There's a lot of legal jargon in there, but it basically says that if you share data with us to help troubleshoot an issue with the software, we will use it solely for the purpose of fixing the issue with the software and for no other purpose. Knowing this, if you are still unable to share the design, I totally understand.

Regardless, I am glad to hear that creating a new drawing of the same design does not display the issue! I know it's not ideal, but I would recreate the drawing at this point, just because we aren't sure what is causing that empty sheet to stick around, how it got into this state, or if this will cause issues with the drawing further down the line in the design process.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns - I am always happy to lend a hand!

Cheers,

Hi,

I have just had the exact same issue occur with a drawing... Was there ever any resolution to it?

Fusion crashed on me whilst working on a sheet - that sheet is now frozen - it is faded out and says it needs to be refreshed, but I can't refresh it, and I can't delete it. I can move it around, so have put it at the end of my set of drawings, but it does add a page to the automatic page count, and because it 'needs to be updated' Fusion won't allow me to export to DWG. I did manage to create a PDF by choosing 'Range' and leaving that page out, but DWG doesn't give me that option.

Regards,

Andrew
