2D Drawing aides

It feel it would be a helpful addition to provide a move lock checkbox for a drawing view, being able to lock specific views down on the page would help.

Also guidelines? being able to drag a horizontal/vertical guidelines on the drawing to help with alignment would be helpful.

With those 2 suggestions I feel it would make creating and maintaining consistent view placements from sheet to sheet a more precise?

Thanks

Hi @terry_fusion

This is interesting feedback. I'd love to hear from you directly, and to get your thoughts around view alignment and locking. If you're up for it, here is a link to my calendar , please book a 30-minute session with me, and we can chat on Zoom (Note that times are in 24:00 format so 03:00 is 3am, 15:00 is 3pm).

Or if a good old-fashioned email is more your style, feel free to ping me Clint. Brown {a} Autodesk.com

Clint,

Hello, Thanks for responding to my post.

The idea is to be able to drag off either a vertical/horizontal/angled guideline from either edge or corners of the drawing sheet onto the page.

There could be a small dialog box that allows for some manipulation of the guideline as it's being created, and/or a general dialog that allows for more granular control. such as guideline color, style (dotted, phantom, etc), angle, and lock in place.

These Guidelines would be superimposed over every page as you were to cycle through them, to allow for use as snapping lines.

It's a pretty basic idea that I've seen used in several software programs (Inkscape comes to mind)

As far as locking the individual views on a sheet, I feel a simple toggle checkbox  (similar to fix/unfix) that locks the view from being accidentally moved around sheet.

I'm sorry I don't have access to a webcam in my work area.

Thanks!
