Why is my 3D Printer skipping a few layers during print before continuing?

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone on here has some idea as to why my 3D print is skipping a few layers entirely before it goes on to the rest of the print (see attached image). I tried to print it twice and it seems to happen in the exact same place.

Could it be an issue with the model/stl file (f3d file attached)? Or the gcode? Or the printer itself?

I'm using a Creality CR 10S printer.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Dave

You are printing over usb and usb feed rate is too slow for the printer, so it overruns its buffer while doing circles (probably) and pauses for the code to catch up.

@Anonymous thank you so much for your response. I'm not printing over USB. I'm printing over TF card. Any other ideas?

tbh I use cura for slicing but when the printer pauses its because it has overcome its buffer, usually its during an arc segment because printers dont understand arcs, they only do straight lines, so feeding it hundreds or thousands of lines to do little movements to make up a curve is usually what did it to me, I just reduced tolerance in cura one tick and its fine

Sorry for the delay. And thank you for your response. It turns out the gcode was just corrupted somehow. I re-exported to stl and that solved the problem.
