Greetings,

This is just an update on my progress. What I have learned is that I have been fighting a number of windmills.  The STL file I thought was problematic in fact was not.  Just forthehellofit I decided to see what Cura would do if I told it to merge the two files the way they were.  It worked successfully.  I ended up with a completed two color project.

I then sliced the project.  Although it did slice the project, Cura added an extra cylindrical structure off to the side.  Looking at it, I sort of figure that it is some type of secondary raft used to get the filament flowing when it is needed after either of the two colors have been sitting for a while as the other color is being used.  I can live with that. See the attached screen capture titled “2025-09-12 Post slice with extra structure.jpg”.

So I told Cura to print through the cloud. This is where I received a error message.  Although the file appeared to be correctly transferred to the Ultimater S7, the received error stated the proposed print is too large for the volume of the printer.  See attached screen capture “2025-09-12 Ultimaker Factor error when starting print.jpg”.

So my question is why has the Ultimaker Factory software dramatically misrepresented the volume of the 3d print and insisting on cancelling the print.  This is in light of the Cura representation of the project is just fine.

So all the work of trying to force the meshes to be locked together and somehow adding the Fusion 360 origin was not needed.  I now need to solve this (hopefully) final Ultimaker Factory issue and I should end up with my first two color 3d print.

As a side note I have opened up an Ultimaker support case about this Factory problem.

I will let you know what their response is.
