Why Are Fusion Dimensions 10X greater on imported .STL files?

I tried out Fusion 360 this evening.  I found it odd that every .stl i imported had the dimensions wrong.  I verified with Sketchup, and sketch up has the dimensions right.  I have figured out that the dimensions are out by a factor of 10.

Is there some setting or something that needs to be changed to get the proper dimensions?

The picture attached is of a ruler that is verified in Sketchup to be 10mm (length of the green line, but in Fusion it is 97MM.  Does this mean all my prints will be 10X bigger than they should be and i will have to mentally adjust for the error?

I would appreciate if you have any insight.

I don't know why you're complaining about such a simple transform.  When I import a dxf into my Cricut, it makes it ‭5.226130653266332‬ times larger

I know the reason.

Attach your stl file and your *.f3d file here.

It doesn't sound like you read the entire thread.  use "insert" instead of "open".  When you use insert you will be presented with a dialog asking what units the stl should be interpreted as, since this info isn't saved with stl data.  Done.  And no, not everybody uses mm.  Most in the hobbyist bunch do, true, but a lot of us here aren't hobbyist.

@j.jackiewicz What part of "the stl file format doesn't store units" do you not understand?  Perhaps it's time to start using a better file format for exchanging files.  Try step files.

p.s. Not everyone uses mm.

Chill boys, they need to remove stl from the import menu and only have it in insert since it only works properly using the insert function otherwise it is in cm.

@j.jackiewicz  This forum is full of very knowable users you just post with your problem if you can not work out the issue in an hour it may save you go mad.
