HI,

I have been using Fusion 360 almost a year now. Never faced this sort of problem with my previous laptop being ASUS K55VM.

a  weeks ago bought a new laptop ASUS GL553V with specs : 8GB RAM I5 7th gen. processor and 2GB nvidia graphic card.

Initially it worked well with this laptop but after a few windows updates this started happening

for 3 days I have been encountering this problem. the software opens works fine for a couple of minutes and then this happens.

I can save the work even with the screen goes white but cant see the work i do when the screen goes white. No grids or the model or sketches appear after that

  1. have tried re-installing it
  2. restarting my laptop
  3. Updating the windows

kindly let me know what to do to solve this problem.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Couple quick things that we can check. Can you go to the help menu and select Graphics Diagnostic. Does it display correctly your GPU device and driver date? Please post a screenshot of what you see. Do you have dual graphics cards? If so, can you try right-clicking the desktop icon and selecting "Run with Graphics Processor" and trying both cards.

Also, when you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you use our clean uninstall tool? If not, please try the steps below just to ensure that you are working with a clean install of Fusion. Note that your offline cache will be lost in this process so proceed with caution.

  • Download and run the clean uninstall tool here
  • Restart your computer
  • Download the Installer for Fusion here
  • Right-click the downloaded installer and select Run as Admin

Let me know if that did the trick or if the issue remains,

Hi @Anonymous,

Do you have dual graphics cards on the machine (i.e. an intel and Nvidia card?). Also, your screenshot does not appear to have attached. Do you mind reposting it.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

Let's try this then since you have dual graphics card. Do you have the ability to right-click the Desktop icon for Fusion 360 and select "Run with Graphics Processor"? If not, you will have to open the Nvidia Control Panel, select the Desktop dropdown, and "Add Run with Graphics Processor to context menu". Then, you should be able to right-click the desktop icon for Fusion and run with the Intel card specifically. Can you try that and let me know if that worked? For reference, here is how you can add that option to your context menu.

Please let me know if you are able to try this option or unable to do so.

Hi James,

The reason why Fusion was hanging or crashing was due to Windows 10 new
updates on my laptop. Restored my laptop to previous version of Windows 10,
works smoothly now.

Thanks for your help James. I appreciate it.

I was having this same problem.

Turned out it was AVG stopping F360 from loading properly. I turned AVG off and it F360 loaded fine.

Hello,

I am having a very similar problem. Only thing is I am running a mac.

I am very new to Fusion

2.9 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i9

Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB

I do not have AVG or any other 3rd party anti-virus app.

just go to preferences, general, then change the graphics driver from auto select to directX 9 and you're welcome!
