Weird behavior when switching between different software

When I'm in Fusion and switch to a different software, to the safari browser for looking up some measurements e.g., and get back to Fusion, I cannot select lines, area... anymore. Even when I try to dimension I can´t select a point or a line. When I then try to extrude something, it won't work either.

When I restart Fusion, everything is fine.

Is there a solution?

Never leaving Fusion is not a option 😉

I'm working on a MacBook Pro (Retina) with MacOS High Sierra, 10.13.2

Hi @gliss7.11

Thanks for posting! It sounds like you may be experiencing an issue similar to what has been described in the threads below:

This behavior appears to occur when the Mac Dock overlaps the design timeline in the Fusion window. As an example, the screenshot below shows a window position that triggered the selection problem:

Screen Shot 2018-01-23 at 1.44.10 PM.png

And the screenshot below here shows a window position that does not trigger the selection issue:Screen Shot 2018-01-23 at 1.46.18 PM.png

We can see that the Fusion window overlaps the Mac dock slightly less in this screenshot.

I've found that selection focus is brought back to Fusion if you click anywhere in the grey area of the design timeline - hopefully this will help minimize the effects of this problem while a fix is investigated. If the behavior you are experiencing seems different, please record a screencast illustrating the issues you are seeing - I am happy to have a look!

Thanks for your quick reply.

After your hint I've tested several situations with the Mac dock.

When I work in fullscreen (own space), I don't have any issues.

When I have the Fusion window open over the whole screen I get issues by switching between different windows. My Mac dock is hidden but showing it up for second by moving the mouse to the bottom solve the issue and I can work normally.

So for me, it´s fine now, I will either work on a own space or I will put the mouse over the dock for a second.
