View cube is tragically broken

How are there so many problems with the view cube that have gone unfixed for years, from what I can tell?

Problem #1: drag view cube until mouse hits the edge of the screen. Model orientation goes berserk.

Problem #2: go to home view, click on front face on view cube, click on clockwise arrow by the view cube. (So that you are looking at model front and model left is screen up.) Now try dragging the view cube top-bottom — nothing happens?

Problem #3: go to home view, click on front face on view cube, click on clockwise arrow by the view cube. (So that you are looking at model front and model left is screen up.) Now try dragging the view cube left-right — model rotates around the screen X axis. What?

Problem #4: go to home view, click on front face on view cube, click on clockwise arrow by the view cube, click on any of the 4 corners of the view cube. (So that now you are looking down a diagonal of the view cube.) Now try dragging the view cube in any direction. As soon as you start dragging, it jumps to a semi-random orientation.

Incidentally, this has been a solved problem for 20 years. Please have your engineers read the Shoemake paper from the 90s that explains how to implement this properly:

All of this observed on current F360 2.0.7813 on macOS 10.15.3, but all of it has been around for at least two year.

Thanks!

I ran through all of the view cube problems you say exist, I could not replicate any of them.  I am using Fusion 360 on a Windows 10 OS system with a standard Logitech mouse.  Take a look at the Screencast where I tried to replicate each problem you described.   I, of course, am using the same version of Fusion 360 as you mentioned since everyone is on automatic update.  Please let me know if I did not understand any of your issue descriptions.

I can only confirm #1 but have to say that I've never encountered this in my day-to-day work.

I don't use the Viewcubes drag functionality and see no reason to.

Can you create a screencast demonstrating these behaviors?
