Update Fusion and try again

I have a student who created a design in Fusion one day, and then next day when he tried to open it received the message:

Update Fusion and try again.

You need the latest update of Fusion to open r2 v1.

Ask your system administrator to update Fusion.  Then try again.

As far as I know, there are no updates to Fusion that are missing on his machine or mine, and I receive the same message when I try to open his file.  I've also tried copying his file to another folder, and also receive the same message.  He is able to create new files, restart Fusion, and open them, but there are several files he'd created previously that he cannot open.  I also see the same error message when I try to insert that file into a current design.

The file appears to open on the Web, and I was able to download it as a Fusion archive.  However, I received the same message when I tried to open the archive.

Other files in other folders that are older than the one he's trying to open will open without any problem.  So is Fusion trying to tell me this file is corrupted?  I've tried opening earlier versions of others of his files and get the same error.  Any suggestions?

TIA,

Tim

@ChewySchu Does the student use both their personal machine and the lab machine? Can you confirm what version of Fusion is installed on the lab machine versus on the student machine?

it seems like the student personal machine could be on a newer version with a "newer file schema" that cannot be opened on older builds.

My student does not use Fusion outside my lab.  My IT guys came down this morning, completely wiped Fusion from the desktop the student uses, and reinstalled from scratch.  However, the student is still seeing the same error.

The version both the student and I are using is 2.0.19966 x86-64.

You mentioned getting my IT department on a mailing list so that they are notified when the schema changes.  How can I get my guys on that list?

Thanks,

Tim

@ChewySchu 2.0.19996 is from our August update and since then we have had a few updates. The latest version is 2.0.20476.
I am surprised that when they installed again it did not get you on the latest build.

Regarding the message, would it be possible to share the design file here? I can check to see in which version it was last saved in.

Does anyone else collaborate on that file other than the student?
