Hey,

I'm quite a fusion360 beginner and I'm learning throught my projects.

Currectly I want to 3D print a soap stamp with a name.

I've inserted a SVG file with the name font.

However I can't figure out how to extrude the font contours in order to 3D-print these.

I

I get these errors and only part that are closed loops will extrude..

Please attach your Fusion model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it. If needed, ZIP a F3Z file.

Hey John,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Here is my file.

I need to mirror the name and then I want to extrude the lines (1mm thick I think) solid to the stamp base.

I'm quite good to try my luck with online help and videos but this one I really can't figure out.

Thanks in advance!

As I understand, the attached model is what you desire.  You can drop back in the timeline do some editing if you desire.

If this answers your question, please select the "Accept Solution" on my post. If you need further help, please ask.

Dear John,

Thanks for your reply and help.

However, I only want to extrude the lines (to some thickness of eg. 1-2 mm).

In your file the whole plane is extruded.

If you look to my printscreen you see what I mean. Only the inner part of he letter G is being extruded.

I get an error on the other parts (I think?).

The goal is to stamp these lines into the soap.

Hope someone can help me with this issue.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Dear Günther,

That is exactly what I want to do, but I get error messages (also see printscreen in my initial post).

If I select all the lines it wil only do certain parts as you can see in the printscreen in this post.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. Should be something with he SVG vector?

Someone who can fix this?

Thanks

Hallo,

The thin extrusion probably fails here due to profile overlaps.
Therefore, I performed a surface extrusion and thickened it.

However, the thickness is limited to 0.85 mm (due to the contour).
