Unable to extend construction plane

I am unable to extend a construction plane. Hovering over an edge no longer highlights an edge to enable me to grab and extend it. The colored edge just does not appear. Grabbing the plane moves the plane and the model.

I noticed this today after the March 22 update, but it could have been earlier as I have not used it recently.

I'm on Mac High Sierra.

hmm... it seems to work for me:  Can you post a screencast of what you are seeing, and and also show what your selection filter is set to?

I had no idea there was a selection filter for that. Thanks for the tip!
