Unable to export component to .step

Am unable to export part of design to step.  My design contains four components.  3/4 convert correctly to step when exporting one at a time.  The 4th component causes fusion 360 to freeze.  Software just seems to freeze indefinitely. I read through the other posts but have found no solution for my error.

Hi @Anonymous

Any component can be exported to step file. Once you right click on that particular component and select export. If you still get the error, try out few things as listed below:

  • Make sure you have stable internet connection.
  • Try clearing your local cache by going into the help menu - Support and Diagnostics - Clear Cache data, this may delete any offline data. So, make sure you have proper back up to cloud.
  • If the model has mesh body, then you can't export it to .stp format.
  • So, try clearing your cache and export it once again.

Do you have a valid solid body?

Does Ctrl (Cmd) b return any errors?

Are there any unresolved issues highlighted in yellow or red in the Timeline?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Are there any characters in the component name that are not allowed for file names?

I was eventually able to resolve those errors and export my file, but after
that - more and more export errors and crashes and freezes and other tics
and bugs. The software looks well but seems unusually "fragile". A long
alpha-stage battle for fusion 360 I guess. Good luck!
