trying to insert a design file into another and join the main components of each

I have two components defied in separate part files.  Each of these files has one top-level component and each has multiple child components.  When I insert one file into the other design, I am able to manipulate it, place it in its approximate position.  However when I attempt to establish a slider joint between the two, everything I do seems to work until I accept the joint by clicking OK.  The orientation of the inserted component then goes haywire, the inserted component is rotated from what I accepted, and there are something like six errors in the joint (timeline icon).  Here is a youtube video of the problem:

Thank you for posting about the issue! I had a look at the video but I was not able to find what might be causing the issue. Would you be able to share a public link to those two design with me? I'd like to take a closer look at them.

Thank you for sharing the files with me! I tested and this seems like a bug to me. I have reported this issue to the development team for further investigation, and I apologize for the inconvenience. (the defect ID is FUS-37581 just for your reference)

As a workaround, could you try switching to Direct modeling mode (Do not capture design history), and then creating a joint?
