Tool Library Issue

Every time I open the tool library Fushion gets frozen. The only way to rest the software is to shut it down using task manager. I have disabled the cloud library and still have the issue.

 

Help !!!

Thanks for posting - I am sorry to hear you've been seeing hanging when launching the tool library in Fusion 360.

 

Are you working on Mac or Windows OS? Are you being given the option to submit crash reports when force quitting?

 

Disabling cloud libraries is a good start for troubleshooting, but I'm curious if the problem may be due to specific data within a particular tool library. Will the tool library manager launch if you re-enable cloud libraries and then remove your cloud libraries one by one? Be sure to back up any tool libraries that will be removed when testing - if removing a certain tool library eliminates the crash, please send the problem library my way.

 

I'd also recommend removing any local libraries one by one - you can remove them from the filepaths below:

  • MAC OS: ~/Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/CAM360/libraries/Local
  • Windows: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries\Local

I'd also like to see a screencast illustrating the hang on your end - please attach a video to this thread if you can reliably reproduce this issue.

 

Beyond this, there are a few tricks that may help:

  1. Removethe xml files in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Fusion 360 CAM\Settings.
  2. Update graphics cards on your system.
  3. Selecting the "Limit effects to optimize performance" option in Graphic Diagnostics.
  4. Ensuring all display scaling is set to 100%.

Paul,

Thanks for getting back to me.
I am using windows OS.

I have removed all local tool library files, and still have the issue.
I have also done a clean uninstall and reinstall of fusion.

The software is working fine, as long as I do not try to open the tool
library button, the library screen opens then Fusion locks, and the only
rest is to kill it in task manager.

Thanks for the response. Would you mind sending me a copy of your diagnostic log files and record a screencast of the hang? 

 

I have seen some problems with tool libraries from Inventor HSM or HSMWorks - do you have either of  these programs installed on your system? What happens if you remove libraries from them?

 

I'd also be curious to know if the hang occurs if you boot up your machine in safe mode.
